Wind and Water tight containers have been in service for a number of years. While these units are no longer Cargo Worthy (see below). The units are very sound, they are functioning units, no leaks, door seals in good order, handles are funtional, floors do not have holes or missing panels. Wind and Water tight units are set to last at least a decade or more if properly taken care of by the end user.

Cargo worthy units meet all the criteria that the IICL organization sets out for the shipping industry. That means that the units meets the thresholds of quality including depth and placement of dents, operation of moving parts, doors seals have no weak points. Cargo worthy DOES NOT have any limits on age, and does not mean there are no imperfections. Remember these units are made for the shipping industry. We are all re-purposing the unit.

These containers are named perfectly. They are produced in China, are used to ship goods one way and are then released for sale into the secondary markets. These units are as new as you can get at a reasonable price. The key is to know that they serve their shipping purpose for one trip and are subject to sustaining some imperfections when being hoisted, picked up with forklifts, driven to a range of destinations, then eventually making it to your preferred location.
